Coffee is delicious, but not suitable for consumption by everyone. You need to be careful about the caffeine content because it can affect the health conditions of the following groups of people.
Drinking a cup of black coffee or coffee with milk has now become part of many people’s lifestyle. Drinking coffee not only provides delicious food, but is also useful for increasing energy and increasing focus.
Some people also rely on coffee as a diet drink. Because drinking black coffee without sugar is believed to stimulate the body’s metabolism which helps in weight loss efforts.
However, there are several groups of people who should not drink coffee. Here’s the list:
1. Pregnant women
Pregnant women are at the top of the list of groups who should not drink coffee. The reason is to reduce the risk of miscarriage, premature birth and low birth weight.
But if you still want to consume coffee, you should discuss it with your obstetrician first.
2. Breastfeeding mothers

Caffeine is classified as a stimulant and diuretic. Therefore, breastfeeding mothers are advised not to drink coffee because it can trigger dehydration.
3. People with sleep disorders
Consuming caffeine even six hours before bed has the potential to disrupt sleep patterns. This was revealed in a study in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.
The findings were based on consuming around 400 mg of caffeine, which is equivalent to four cups of coffee.
4. Sufferers of panic attacks and anxiety

High levels of caffeine, for example from consuming five glasses of coffee a day, can trigger panic attacks, especially for those who have anxiety problems. Always pay attention to your coffee intake if you have this problem.
5. Have a history of GERD
If you have a history of GERD, switch to decaffeinated coffee. This is because caffeine can loosen the lower esophageal sphincter or valve between the esophagus and the stomach, which can trigger stomach acid to increase.
