Taichan satay, here are the ingredients, recipe and how to make it at home



Jakarta (ANTARA) – Taichan satay is a chicken satay dish that has its own uniqueness and appetizing taste. This dish has long been a favorite in the Indonesian culinary world and remains popular today.

Taichan satay has a characteristic white color and a savory, spicy and fresh taste. This is different from satay in general which is usually served with peanut sauce or soy sauce. This satay is served with spicy chili sauce, lime juice, and a sprinkling of onions, salt, or mushroom stock.

This way of serving makes Taichan satay have a unique combination of spicy and sour flavors, making it very popular among young people and culinary lovers in Indonesia. This is due to its simple but delicious taste, as well as the way it is served which is different from satay in general.

If you are interested in trying it, it turns out that making your own Taichan satay at home is quite easy. Follow the recipe and steps below to make delicious Taichan satay that you can enjoy at any time.

Taichan satay recipe

The main ingredient:

  • 500 grams chicken breast cut into cubes
  • Skewer to taste
  • 1 lime
  • Salt or mushroom stock to taste
  • Fried onions (optional)
  • Ground pepper (optional)

Marinade ingredients:

  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil or sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Chili Ingredients:

  • 15 red bird’s eye chilies (according to taste)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 100 ml water

How to make Taichan satay

  1. Put the diced chicken breast in a container and mix with finely chopped garlic, salt, cooking oil/sesame, and lime juice.
  2. Then stir well until the spices are absorbed. Let stand for about 15-30 minutes so that the spices are completely absorbed into the chicken.
  3. To wait for marination, boil the cayenne pepper and garlic until wilted, then remove and drain.
  4. Next, grind or blend the boiled chilies and garlic, add salt and a little cooking oil.
  5. Pour in the water little by little until it is not too thick as desired.
  6. After marinating, skewer the chicken breast pieces using a skewer.
  7. Heat a grill or Teflon frying pan over medium heat, then grill the chicken satay until cooked. Turn the satay so it cooks evenly.
  8. While grilling, sprinkle a little salt and pepper on the chicken to taste. And spread sesame oil.
  9. Serve the Taichan satay with the spicy chili sauce that has been made. Add lime juice for a fresh taste.
  10. You can also serve lontong, fried onions, and add mushroom stock or salt as topping.
