Often Avoided, Chicken Brutu Turns Out to Have Health Benefits


KOMPAS.com – The part of the chicken’s body which is often called brutu or chicken buttocks is often avoided by many people.

The main reason is that the brutu is the part of the chicken’s anus that needs to be cleaned properly so that it doesn’t taste bitter, and sometimes feces can be left behind.

However, it turns out that chicken brutu has health benefits if consumed properly.

Brutu chicken, which in scientific language is called pygostyleis the rearmost part of the bird’s body, where the chicken’s tail feathers gather.

Even though it is often considered disgusting, chicken brutu actually contains nutrients that are beneficial for health.

Benefits of eating chicken brutu

Chicken ruffs contain oil-producing glands that help oil the chicken’s feathers. Apart from that, this part is rich in iron and calcium—more so than chicken breast.
