This sea moss is generally harvested to extract carrageenan, a jelly-like substance often used by the food industry as a thickener. Usually used in ice cream, milk, cottage cheese, jelly, and toothpaste.

Sea moss is tufted and has thin, fan-like leaves. Even though it is red algae, sea moss appears in various colors, such as yellow, purple, brown and gray, depending on environmental conditions.

2. Sea moss gel

The sea moss that has recently gone viral is in gel form and packaged in glass containers. Some people eat it by mixing it with water and adding it to smoothies.

Apart from that, there are also those who immediately eat a whole spoonful of it, like supermodel Bella Hadid does. This sea moss gel has a texture like aloe vera.
