Recipe for Making Singang
The following is a recipe that can be used to make your own singang at home.
Material
• 3 fresh tilapia fish (can be substituted with other fish or shrimp)
• 4 cayenne peppers
• 2 large red chilies
• 5 red onions
• 1 cm turmeric
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbsp granulated sugar
• Enough oil
Complementary materials
• 1 handful of basil leaves
• 1 clove of garlic
• 3 pieces of tamarind
• 1 stalk of lemongrass
• 2 spring onions
• 1 green tomato
How to make
1. Clean the fish, remove the entrails, and cut into pieces. Coat with lime juice if necessary to reduce the fishy smell.
2. Cut the spring onions and green tomatoes into small pieces. Thinly slice the garlic.
3. Crumble the lemongrass and soak the tamarind in hot water until it dissolves.
4. Saute the ground spices until fragrant, then add the lemongrass, tamarind juice and spring onions. Cook until the spices are completely cooked.
5. Pour enough water and let it boil.
6. Add fish and tomatoes to the pan, stir well. Add salt, sugar and stock powder according to taste.
7. Cook until the fish is completely cooked.
8. Finally, add the basil and stir well before removing.
9. Serve Singang Fish with warm rice.
