1. Rendang

Who doesn’t know this typical food from Minangkabau, West Sumatra. Of course Indonesians are very familiar with this food and in fact most Indonesians really like it. Rendang is even one of the most delicious foods in the world.

It is not surprising that the price of this food is very expensive abroad and is sold for around IDR 150,000-IDR 200,000 per portion. Meanwhile, in Indonesia rendang is only sold for IDR 15,000 per portion.

2. Chicken Soto

Soto ayam is one of the foods that Indonesians really like. With a price range of IDR 10,000-IDR 15,000 per portion, you can enjoy a bowl of chicken soto complete with fillings such as sliced ​​chicken, eggs, celery, fried onions and very authentic yellow sauce. However, abroad, a bowl of chicken soup is sold for more than IDR 100,000 per portion.

3. Gado-Gado

This healthy vegetarian food also has a special place in the hearts of Indonesian people. This food has begun to be known by many foreigners as ‘salad with peanut sauce’. We can enjoy Gado-gado for only IDR 10,000 – IDR 15,000 per portion filled with various vegetables such as bean sprouts, long beans, carrots, pumpkin, kale and lettuce. However, gado-gado can be sold for around IDR 100,000-IDR 150,000 per portion abroad.

4. Fried Rice

Fried rice is one of the foods that we most often encounter along urban and rural roads. The price for one portion of fried rice is relatively cheap, namely around IDR 10,000-IDR 20,000 per portion. This food is certainly the main choice for most Indonesians when they want to fill their stomachs. However, it is very different if fried rice is sold abroad, because the price can be around IDR 150,000 per portion.

5. Tempeh

This food is certainly very familiar to Indonesians, because most of them use tempeh as their food. Tempeh can also be processed into a delicious snack. Tempe is sold at a very affordable price ranging from IDR 5,000-IDR 8,000 per board. However, tempeh can be a very expensive ingredient when sold abroad at a price of IDR 400,000 and weighing 226 grams.
