PALANGKARAYA – Governor of Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) Sugianto Sabran officially closed the Isen Mulang Cultural Festival (FBIM) and the 2024 Central Kalimantan Province Archipelago Culinary Festival (FKN) which has been going on for 6 days since Saturday (18/5/2024). The closing of the FBIM and FKN was held in the courtyard of the Multipurpose Indoor GOR, Jalan Tjilik Riwut Km. 5, Palangka Raya, Friday evening (24/5/2024).

In his speech, Governor Sugianto Sabran said that the entire 2024 FBIM and FKN series had been completed well and smoothly.

“For this reason, I would like to express my thanks and highest appreciation to the organizing committee, artists and participants, as well as all parties who have made this festival a success,” he said.

He said that during the 6 days of FBIM and FKN 2024, Central Kalimantan people from various circles had enjoyed various entertainment offerings, arts and culture attractions, competitions and various interesting traditional culinary delights. Arts and culture actors present their best works that educate the public to be more aware of, and proud of, the artistic and cultural values ​​of Central Kalimantan.

“Therefore, we must continue to maintain the existence of the noble values ​​of tradition and local wisdom, in the midst of modern progress and modernization,” said Governor Sugianto Sabran.

Furthermore, he stated that FBIM and FKN are also strategic events to promote cultural arts, tourist destinations and typical Central Kalimantan culinary delights to domestic and foreign tourists, especially in conjunction with the UCI MTB World Championship.

Apart from that, it is hoped that this festival will help move the wheels of the community’s economy. During the activity, the festival was enlivened by many participants and visitors which had a positive impact on increasing buying and selling transactions, both for MSMEs and also street vendors (PKL).

This festival is a real form of support for the National Movement Proudly Made in Indonesia (BBI) and Proud to Travel in Indonesia (BBWI) which aims to advance local MSMEs, encourage people to be proud to buy and use domestic products, and increase tourism.

Governor Sugianto Sabran hopes that in the future FBIM and FKN can be organized better.
