DENPASAR, BALIPOST.com – Pasikian Yowana Denpasar is holding Masikian Fest, for two days (3-4 August 2024) at Puputan Badung Square, I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung, Denpasar. This festival is a way to preserve traditions and culture, including traditional food.

According to Penyarikan Yowana Bali MDA Denpasar City, I Yande Adiana, Saturday (3/8), until now there are quite a lot of traditions that are still carried out in Bali, especially in Denpasar. He said Yowana in Denpasar City was ready to continue Balinese traditions and culture because of the support of various parties, including the private sector, in accordance with the ideals of cultural preservation.

Regarding traditional drinks, representatives of Sekaa Teruna Teruni (STT), AA. Ariyuda Krismawan said that in Bali typical drinks such as green grass jelly or commonly called daluman, are still sustainable and are often sold in traditional markets and rujak stalls. Unfortunately, supplies of the basic ingredient, namely daluman leaves, are increasingly difficult to obtain considering that not many people grow them.

Meanwhile, one of the private actors, Lie Joko Budiman, said that traditional foods, such as grass jelly, can be preserved with modern manufacturing and packaging so that they are hygienic. Head of Marketing Food & Beverage Kino Indonesia said innovation is needed to bridge the past and present.

“The legacy of our ancestors needs to be innovated so that it can be accepted today. “This Indonesian traditions campaign not only aims to celebrate the richness of existing traditions, but also to ensure that these valuable values can be known and loved by the younger generation,” he said.

He also added that traditional drinks actually have health benefits if consumed correctly. Grass jelly for example. Apart from being a drink that has been consumed for generations, it also has health benefits, such as relieving heartburn and improving digestion because it contains fiber and antioxidants.

He assessed that the preservation of art and culture in Bali is well maintained, including local drinks that have been consumed for generations, such as daluman. This tradition needs to be maintained and preserved.

“One area with a strong variety of traditions and uniqueness is Bali. We not only see Bali as a tourist destination, but also as a symbol of rich traditions that must be cared for and maintained. “We believe that tradition is the foundation of our identity as a society,” he said.
