12 Types of Typical Indonesian Satay that Appetize

Milkfish Satay

If you want a typical Indonesian type of satay that doesn’t use goat, chicken, lamb or beef, you can try milkfish satay from Banten. This satay is made from milkfish as the name suggests.

So the milkfish meat has been separated from the bones, chopped until smooth and mixed with various spices. Then the satay mixture is put back into the fish skin and skewered with a large bamboo skewer and grilled until cooked.

Blora Satay

Not much different from Madura Sate, Blora Sate is also made from chicken meat. The difference lies in the seasoning. This type of typical Indonesian satay not only uses soft peanut sauce, but is served complete with yellow opor sauce which tastes very delicious from coconut milk.

Apart from that, before being grilled, the chicken used is also mixed with garlic, brown sugar and coriander. This satay from the Blora area has smaller pieces than other satay.
