The culture of drinking coffee has also spread to Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). One of the unique shops in Kupang is Toko Kopi Maida. This small shop, decorated with Japanese ornaments, is located on Jalan Ade Irma II Number 19, Kelapa Lima, Kupang City, NTT.
The owner of the Maida Coffee Shop, Gilbert, said that his business is a medium for building an ecosystem for coffee drinkers in Kupang. Through the shop, he also campaigns messages about the environment, one of which is forest protection.

“If humans look after coffee, coffee will look after forests, and forests will look after humans,” said Gilbert Sandy when met detikBaliTuesday (22/10/2024).
Maida Coffee Shop is thick with oriental nuances combined with style and layouts Japan. Gilbert admitted that he was inspired by small shops in Sakura Country. He wants this coffee shop to be a medium for exchanging ideas to build an ecosystem through music, art, politics and the environment.

Gilbert said that the favorite menu that most visitors order at his shop is Kopi Bale Gula. This drink menu uses coffee beans from Manggarai. This drink is priced at 25 thousand.
Maida Coffee Shop also sells various snacks for coffee friends. One of them is the gohyong snack. The various foods and snacks in this shop are priced from 20 thousand to 40 thousand.
The coffee shop is open every day from 11.00 to 23.00 WITA. Usually, this coffee shop starts to get busy with visitors in the afternoon. The atmosphere is comfortable, calm, and occasionally a gentle breeze rustles.
Maida Coffee Shop is one of the hangout places for young people in Kupang City. One of the visitors that afternoon was Susan. The 22 year old woman seemed to be having fun chatting with her friends while enjoying the coffee that the barista had prepared.
“The favorite menu when you come here is Kopi Bale Gula,” said the communication science student.
