NGAWI – Pecel rice is a rural food that is easy to find in Ngawi Regency, East Java.
However, there is a very legendary pecel rice stall in this friendly city, which is known as Nasi Pecel Mampir.
Nasi Pecel Stopover which is located in Paron District, adjacent to Paron Market, is open every 12 hours until morning.
Spicy chili sauce, and delicious letok and hot rice with side dishes such as tempeh, eggs and chicken liver. Warung Mampir has been able to survive since 1991 until now.
“We have been running this shop for 32 years, since 1991. Just the two of us with my husband, due to age, my son is currently helping me,” said Mrs. Juari, owner of the legendary rice pecel stall, Mampir, Tuesday (23/5/2023).
“Buyers come from all walks of life, and the prices are affordable. Because we open at midnight, we also provide coffee, hot tea and iced tea,” added Mrs. Juari.
In selling from 12 at night to 4 in the morning, Mrs. Juari spends an average of 50 to 80 kilograms of rice, with the number of buyers reaching more than 100 people.
It’s not surprising, if it opens at 12 at night, since 10/11 at night buyers have been queuing to enjoy the Stopby pecel rice.
“On normal days, sometimes we spend 50 kilograms of rice. On weekend nights or holidays it can reach 80 kilograms. The number of buyers is countless, there could be more than 100 people, because there are also packers,” he said.
