TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The government is aggressively promoting spices typical of the archipelago through Indonesia Spice up the World (ISUTW).
The promotion is carried out by preparing rendang as the main weapon.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said the ISUTW program was being developed and prepared so that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) could later introduce it at the World Expo Dubai.
To be precise, it will start at the launch on November 4 2021, to coincide with National Day at World Expo Dubai which Jokowi plans to attend in Dubai, as well as in the context of the G-20 presidency roadshow.
“In this case, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy provides support in the form of producing ISUTW multimedia content which will be used in the ISUTW Launching at World Expo Dubai,” said Sandi during the Weekly Press Briefing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy office, Central Jakarta, Monday (27/9/2021).

Apart from that, he continued, an all platform version will be prepared to be used as visual promotional material for ISUTW until 2024.
According to Sandi, the content prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy this year in its publications was not only carried out by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
“However, all relevant ministries or institutions also help spread it through their respective owned media, their respective media partners, and all offline programs related to ISUTW. So this is actually a form of collaboration for ISUTW’s national priority program,” he said.
One of Indonesia’s weapons in this program is rendang.

Moreover, he said, rendang ranks 11th out of the 50 most delicious foods in the world according to CNN.
“Not only that, rendang is also a favorite menu of many Indonesian restaurants in various parts of the world, so of course rendang is well known to the international community,” said Sandi.
