8 Dish Ideas Using Sacrificial Beef
1. Beef Rendang
Material:
1 kg beef, cut according to taste
1 liter of coconut milk from 2 coconuts
5 lime leaves
2 turmeric leaves, summed
2 stalks lemongrass, bruised
3 cm galangal, bruised
Ground spices:
10 red onion cloves
6 cloves of garlic
5 large red chilies
5 bird’s eye chilies (optional)
3 cm ginger
3 cm turmeric
1 tbsp coriander
1 tbsp cumin
Salt to taste
How to make:
Saute ground spices until fragrant. Add lime leaves, turmeric leaves, lemongrass and galangal. Add beef, stir until it changes color. Pour in the coconut milk, cook over low heat until the meat is tender and the sauce thickens. Keep stirring until the spices are absorbed and the rendang releases oil. Serve.
2. Maranggi Beef Satay
Material:
500 grams beef, cut into cubes
4 cloves of garlic
3 candlenuts
2 tbsp coriander
2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar, shaved
1 tbsp tamarind water
Salt to taste
How to make:
Puree the garlic, candlenuts and coriander. Mix the ground spices with sweet soy sauce, brown sugar, tamarind juice and salt. Rub the beef with spices, let sit for 30 minutes. Skewer the meat with satay sticks, then grill until cooked. Serve with soy sauce.
