8 Foods to Relieve Headaches, There’s Watermelon


KOMPAS.com – Headaches, whether in the form of mild or sharp pain, are one of the most disturbing health problems. When it attacks, daily activities such as working or driving become difficult.

Although pain relievers such as ibuprofen are often a quick fix, there are some foods and drinks that can help relieve headache symptoms, depending on the cause.

Types of headaches

Not all headaches are the same. Based on the cause, headaches can be classified into:

  • Primary headaches, caused by activity or problems with the structure of the head.
  • Secondary headaches, which arise due to certain health conditions.

1. Banana

Bananas are rich in fiber which helps keep you feeling full for longer. Fiber also contributes to a healthy digestive system and may help reduce the risk of central nervous system disorders, including migraines.

Add protein such as peanut butter for a longer lasting satiety effect.

2. Peppermint tea

Peppermint tea can be a drink of choice to treat dehydration. The refreshing aroma of this tea is believed to relieve headaches, although this benefit remains anecdotal.
