6 Indonesian Cities Enter the List of 100 Cities with the Best Food in the World


KOMPAS.com – A total of six cities in Indonesia are on the list “100 Best Food Cities in the World” version of the Taste Atlas Awards 2024-2025.

The Indonesian cities with the best food in the world are Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Padang, Solo and Yogyakarta.

Before entering the 100 cities with the best food in the world, these cities were included in 17,073 cities databases Taste Atlas.

“Based on 477,287 ratings food for 15,478 meals in databases that, there were 100 cities recorded with ratings highest which serves regional and national dishes,” wrote Taste Atlas on the official website.

Apart from cities in Indonesia, there are also the cities of Milan in Italy, Paris in France, Osaka in Japan, Madrid in Spain, Istanbul in Turkey, Singapore in Singapore, and Hue in Vietnam.

6 cities with the best food in Indonesia

Jakarta is in 16th place, followed by Bandung in 32nd place, Surabaya in 34th place, Padang in 56th place, Solo in 82nd place, and Yogyakarta in 87th place out of 100 best food cities in the world version Taste Atlas.

The ranking of each city is determined by ratings highest from readers Taste Atlas. The taste encyclopedia page explains the must-try foods, food producers and iconic traditional restaurants in each city.

According to Taste Atlascheck out the must-try foods in the following six Indonesian cities that are considered the tastiest.

1. Jakarta

Must-try foods in Jakarta consist of nasi uduk, gado-gado, chicken porridge, soto betawi, and meatballs.

According to the iconic traditional restaurants in Jakarta Taste Atlas are 1945 Restaurant, Lapo Marpadotbe, Bandar Djakarta, Asinan Betawi H. Mansyur, and Marannu Restaurant.

2. Bandung

This city with a score of 4.54 out of 5 has the tastiest food in the form of batagor, cireng, yellow rice, shaken noodles and serabi.
