500 Gram Nastar Recipe, Dry Cake Ideas for Christmas Hampers


KOMPAS.com – Want to make hampers Christmas alone at home? One of the cakes that can be served in it is nastar.

This nastar recipe uses cinnamon and cloves so it tastes sweet and spicy.

The following is a recipe and method for making nastar that you can try, quoted from the book “Indonesian Cakes: 165 Recipes” the work of Yasa Boga (2015) published by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama.

Material:

  • 275 grams of wheat flour
  • 200 grams margarine
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 50 grams of powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon powdered milk

Nastar jam ingredients:

  • 1 pineapple (peeled, grated)
  • 100 grams of granulated sugar
  • 2 centimeters cinnamon
  • 2 cloves

Topical ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon margarine (melted)
  • 2 egg yolks
  1. Pineapple jam. Add and mix all the filling ingredients into a pan, cook over low heat while continuing to stir. Cook until the texture is thick enough and can be formed into small balls.
  2. Pineapple skin. Mix margarine, egg yolks, powdered sugar and powdered milk. Beat the ingredients until soft and white.
  3. Add the flour, stir again using a fork until smooth.
  4. Take one tablespoon of skin mixture, make a round. Press with the palm of your hand, add the filling, then round again or shape as desired.
  5. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius. Coat a baking sheet with margarine, then place the nastar onto it. Brush the surface of the nastar with a mixture of melted egg yolk and margarine.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the oven, bake for about 20 to 25 minutes until the pineapple color is golden yellow. Remove from the oven, let it rest for a moment before placing it in a jar.
