1. Save in the refrigerator
According to Corporate Chef Parador Hotels & Resorts, Gatot Susanto, the best way to store rambutan is to put it in the refrigerator.
“Actually, for rambutan, if you want to stay durable in the refrigerator,” Gatot told Kompas.comTuesday (12/29/2020).
By storing rambutan in the refrigerator, the water content in the fruit is maintained so that it is not easily withered and dry.
Cold temperatures also slow down the decay process so that rambutan can last up to one week.

2. Don’t often open and close the refrigerator
If you store rambutan in the refrigerator, make sure not to open the refrigerator door too often.
This is because changes in temperature up and down can speed up the withered process in rambutan.
We recommend that you keep fruit on a shelf that is not too often exposed to outside air so that the freshness is maintained.

3. Do not be at room temperature for too long
If you don’t have a refrigerator or want to store rambutan at room temperature, you should consume rambutan in about three days.
If more than three days, rambutan will begin to wither and the texture changes.
“After three days it is not not good, but surely the service has arrived inside,” said Gatot.
