For some people, coffee and tea has become a routine drink in the morning. Before immediately sipping the drink, it’s better to drink water. Here’s why.

After waking up, many people immediately drink their favorite tea and coffee. Maybe tea and coffee have become part of their morning routine because they can make the body more enthusiastic.

However, this should no longer be done for several reasons. One of them is because both drinks are very acidic and can damage the body in more dangerous ways.

That is why nutritionists recommend drinking water first before tea and coffee. Summarizing the Times of India (02/11), here are 5 reasons why it is important to drink water before drinking tea and coffee.

1. Water can hydrate the body

The basic reason is because water can hydrate the entire body. Some people may feel thirsty after waking up, this indicates that they are dehydrated due to several factors.

Instead of quenching your thirst with coffee and tea, it is better to hydrate your body with water. This is because caffeinated drinks actually make dehydration worse.

By drinking water in the morning, this also helps get rid of toxins in the body while diluting acid levels in the stomach. To keep your body healthy and work better, it is recommended to drink 2 glasses of warm water before continuing to drink coffee or tea.

One nutritionist in Delhi, India named Mansi Gupta, also revealed that after six hours of sleep, the body can need 500 ml of water before starting the day.

Gupta also revealed that a cup of coffee and tea is already acidic. By drinking water beforehand, this will help balance the pH of the coffee and tea.
