3 Tips for Cleaning and Maintaining Your Oven at Home


KOMPAS.com – Electronic cooking equipment in the kitchen must be cleaned so that it lasts and looks neat.

The oven is a cooking tool that is almost always used to bake chicken, bread and cookies.

An oven that is frequently used certainly leaves behind dirt from food residue, so it needs to be cleaned thoroughly so that it doesn’t become stubborn stains.

Food residue on the oven can be cleaned with table salt. The method is to sprinkle salt on the dirty surface of the oven.

It is best to clean the oven when it is hot or warm after use. After sprinkling the salt, let it sit until the oven cools.

When it’s cool, brush off the salt spill with a damp sponge.

2. Remove oil from the oven

Leftover food fat in the oven can also be cleaned with salt. Sprinkle with salt while the oven is still hot.

Once cool, brush on the remaining oil so it’s not too difficult to clean. You can use baking soda, let it sit for a while, then rub with a fat sponge.

3. Maintain the oven

So that the oven lasts, it needs to be maintained by always cleaning out dried food residue.

Clean with appropriate tools and materials such as baking soda. Mix baking soda with water then rub it on the walls and bottom of the oven.

After that, turn on the oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the caked-on crust will be easy to clean.
