3 Tempe Satay Recipes that are No Less Delicious, Spicy Versions or Using Rujak Seasoning


Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Satay has become one of them comfort food for Indonesians. In the conventional version, satay is generally prepared from various meats, from chicken to goat. However, creatively, you can try using various ingredients, including making tempeh satay.

As the name suggests, this version of satay uses tempeh as the main ingredient. Even though it seems simple, you can add a different touch by choosing various spices, from the spicy version to the rujak seasoning which is no less tempting.

Spicy Tempe Satay

User created recipes @tommy1103 This requires the following ingredients:

400 grams tempeh, cut into cubes

2 bay leaves

1 knuckle of galangal, bruised

100 ml coconut milk

Salt and sugar to taste

Ground spices:

8 red onion cloves

5 cloves of garlic

10 red cayenne peppers

1 segment of turmeric

1 tsp coriander

Spread ingredients:

2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce mixed with 1 teaspoon oil, stir well

How to Make Spicy Tempe Satay

  1. Saute ground spices with salam and galangal until fragrant.
  2. Add tempeh, stir well, pour in coconut milk. Add salt and sugar to taste. Cook until the coconut milk dries up and the spices are absorbed.
  3. Skewer the tempeh with satay sticks.
  4. Brush with sweet soy sauce, then the roots until fragrant and browned. Remove and serve warm with your favorite pickles.
