3 Taichan Satay Recipes, Cooking Ideas for Family Gatherings to Welcome the End of Year Holidays


Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Taichan satay is a type of satay made from chicken meat. This satay variation does not use peanut sauce or soy sauce when making it, but is usually served with red chili sauce.

Even though it is simpler than satay in general, this dish is no less delicious and is very suitable to be served at family gatherings, especially during the year-end holidays. The method for making Taichan satay is quite short, and the ingredients are also easy to find. Taichan Satay

700 grams chicken fillet, cut into cubes

1 lime

2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp coriander powder

Salt to taste

Pinch of ground pepper

Enough mushroom broth

A pinch of butter, for greasing

Chili Ingredients

15 cayenne peppers

5 curly red chilies

1 clove of garlic

3 cloves of red onion

1 tsp rebon shrimp, optional

1 lime

Salt to taste

Sugar to taste

How to Make Taichan Satay

  1. Mix all the satay ingredients in a container. After that, stir well, marinate for one hour, and store in the refrigerator.
  2. After 1 hour, skewer the chicken with satay sticks.
  3. Grill over a fire or grill while smearing with butter until cooked. Once cooked, remove the satay.
  4. Next, cook the chili sauce. Boil all ingredients except rebon shrimp, until the chilies are wilted. Then, lift and drain.
  5. After that, puree the chili sauce and add the rebon shrimp.
  6. Finally, cook the chili sauce with a little cooking oil, add salt and sugar to taste. Cook over low heat until fragrant then add 3/4 tablespoon water and cook until the water subsides. Then, turn off the stove and add chili sauce with lime. Taichan satay is ready to be served with chili sauce.
