Following an alkaline diet or a diet that focuses on reducing the consumption of acidic foods is thought to support liver function, thereby helping the body eliminate toxins that contribute to eczema symptoms.

Bananas actually also contain several amine compounds which in some people can worsen itching. Fortunately, this fruit contains magnesium and vitamin C which can reduce amines.

Research on turmeric and eczema is still limited, but at least according to Healthline, one study found significant improvements in eczema symptoms after they used a cream containing the spice turmeric. Other research also shows that turmeric can help treat other skin conditions.
