Mataram –
The voter participation rate in the 2024 West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Election (Pilgub) reached 73.96 percent. This figure increased slightly compared to voter participation in the 2018 NTB gubernatorial election.
“This year, it is 73.96 percent, an increase compared to the 2018 Pilkada of 0.06 percent or 73.90 percent,” said Member of the NTB Provincial KPU, Division of Socialization, Voter Education, Community Participation and Human Resources, Agus Hilman to detikBaliFriday (6/12/2024).
According to Hilman, the total number of residents included in the permanent voter list (DPT) for the 2024 NTB gubernatorial election reached 3,964,325 people. Of this number, 2,826,922 voters exercised their right to vote by coming to the polling station (TPS) on voting day.
“So, 1,137,403 have not exercised their voting rights,” he added.
Hilman admitted that voter participation in NTB in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) and Legislative Election (Pileg) was higher, reaching 83 percent. Even so, he said, this figure cannot be used as a reference in comparing voter participation levels in the 2024 gubernatorial election.
“Because voter data is treated differently. For example, in the presidential election, Indonesian migrant workers from NTB who were abroad were removed from the voter list. This is different from the gubernatorial election, they were not removed,” added Hilman. He said NTB voters who were abroad during the 2024 presidential election were included in the list of overseas voters.
Previously, the NTB KPU appointed candidate pair (paslon) serial number 3 Lalu Muhamad Iqbal-Indah Dhamayanti Putri (Iqbal-Dinda) as the winner of the 2024 NTB gubernatorial election. The plenary to determine the winner of the NTB gubernatorial election took place from Thursday (5/12/2024) to Friday (6 /12/2024) early this morning.
Hilman said the Iqbal-Dinda duet won 1,163,194 votes or the equivalent of 41.15 percent. Followed by candidate pair number 2 Zulkieflimansyah-Suhaili Fadhil Thohir (Zul-Uhel) with 887,791 votes or 31.40 percent and candidate pair number 1 Sitti Rohmi Djalilah-Musyafirin (Rohmi-Firin) with 775,937 votes or 27.45 percent.
