Denpasar –
Sanur Village Festival (SVF) 2024 will be held on 16-20 October 2024 with the theme Asta Brateswarya. This is the 17th SVF event.
Chairman of the Sanur Development Foundation (YPS) and Chairman of the SVF 2024 Committee, Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Putra, stated that this year visitors are invited to enjoy a different culinary experience. A total of 135 tenants will participate during the five-day event.
“We are serving heritage food, involving Sanur culinary practitioners with typical ingredients. Later there will be be tawah, toro-toro, bulung boni, and even burgers. So, the opportunity for variation is there,” he said in Sanur, Denpasar, Bali , on Monday (14/10/2024).
He added that various five-star restaurants will also take part in this event, and the culinary prices offered will be affordable.
“Visitors don’t need to go around Sanur to enjoy the typical culinary delights here, because everything can be found in one area of the SVF venue,” he said.
This year, SVF will be held at Mertasari Beach in Sanur, different from the previous location in the Matahari Terbit area. According to him, this location move was based on several considerations, including the traffic jam conditions that often occur in Matahari Terbit. Apart from that, his party wants to promote Mertasari Beach in Sanur as a tourist destination.
He hopes to attract around 100 thousand visitors during the five-day event, with a transaction target of reaching IDR 15 billion.
SVF 2024 activities include a beach clean-up, turtle release, kite exhibition, body painting, as well as musical and cultural performances. On the first and second days, admission is free, while for the following days a fee will be charged.
Head of the Tourism Marketing Development Division of the Denpasar City Tourism Office, Ketut Trisna Aryani, called SVF an extraordinary event that has been going on for 17 years.
“We from the Denpasar Tourism Office always support all these activities because Sanur is the biggest source of income for Denpasar. A lot of our PAD comes from here,” he said.
He said that this year his party provided support of IDR 187,500,000, and had budgeted IDR 422 million for next year as a form of support for SVF.
Trisna added that every event definitely brings in tourists, both local and foreign. Performers usually come with teams and families, considering the high attractiveness of Bali.
“From the event, of course there will be an increase in tourists, then the stay will definitely be around Sanur, both in Santrian and Sudamala. Restaurants in the area will definitely feel the positive effect,” he added.
