Ants are attracted to sweet foods so that sweet rambutan is often surrounded by ants.

However, the Center for Horticultural Studies of Tropical Institute of Agriculture Bogor (IPB), Prof. Dr. Sobir explained, the presence of ants around Rambutan was also influenced by white lice.

“Actually there is an ant because there is an interest in white lice,” he said, as reported Kompas.comFriday (7/1/2022).

Thus, although many ants can be an indication of sweet taste, this factor cannot be used as the main benchmark.
