KOMPAS.com – The global culinary encyclopedia site TasteAtlas released a list of the worst foods in the world on Wednesday (8/1/2025).
Two Indonesian foods are on the list “100 Worst Rated Foods in the World“TasteAtlas version, namely panic and tinutuan.
Tinutuan was ranked 16th with a score of 2.3 out of 5, and panici was ranked 36th with a score of 2.5 out of 5 on the list of the worst foods in the world.
Tinutuan is also known as Manado porridge.

This dish, which is usually used as breakfast, comes from the city of Manado, North Sulawesi.
Apart from rice, tinutuan is also made from vegetables, such as spinach, corn and pumpkin, which are cooked with rice.

Paniki is a traditional dish from Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi.
Paniki is made from bat meat as the main ingredient. The meat is cooked with various spices and coconut milk.
Nowadays, panic is commonly made from chicken as a substitute.
The list of the worst foods in the world is based on the ratings of TasteAtlas users when reviewing foods from various countries.
There were 385,835 votes declared valid from a total of 596,403 votes.
That is why, this list of the worst foods in the world according to TasteAtlas cannot be used as a global culinary standard.
TasteAtlas claims that this food list was released to promote eating local dishes and arouse curiosity about new culinary delights that readers have never tried.
