Salted Chili Tofu Recipe, Simple and Delicious Side Dish


KOMPAS.com – If you have tofu at home and are bored of just frying it, you can make salted chili tofu.

The taste is not only spicy, but also delicious with a crunchy tofu texture when bitten.

Material:

  • 1 large white tofu (cut into squares)

Tofu marinade ingredients:

  • Enough water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Coating powder ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons tapioca flour
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch or cornstarch
  • Powdered stock to taste (optional)
  • Pepper powder to taste

Seasoning ingredients:

  • 4 red onions (finely chopped)
  • 5 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • 3 curly red chilies (finely sliced)
  • 4 red bird’s eye chilies (optional)
  • 1-2 spring onions (finely sliced)
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Powdered stock to taste
  1. Soak the tofu that has been cut into cubes in water mixed with salt and garlic powder for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Mix tapioca flour, rice flour, cornstarch, stock powder, and pepper. Dip the tofu in the flour mixture, then shake it in a lunch box so that all sides of the tofu are evenly coated.
  3. Pour oil into a frying pan to heat. Fry the tofu until dry and golden. Lift and drain.
  4. Use a little oil used to fry the tofu. Saute the shallots and garlic until fragrant. Add the chili slices and saute until cooked. Add spring onions, salt, sugar, pepper and stock powder according to taste.
  5. Add the fried tofu to the stir-fry spices. Stir well until all the tofu is coated with the chili salt seasoning. Check the seasoning and serve warm.
