Detox diet with just drinking juice Many people do it every day to lose weight at the same time. From a nutritional perspective, is this step right? This is what nutritionists say.
The detox diet is claimed to be able to remove toxins from the body. The way to do this is by drinking a concoction juice certain fruits and vegetables for several days. Therefore, this diet is also popularly known as detox juice.
Found detikfood (5/1), dr. Diana Suganda M.Kes, Sp.GK as a clinical nutrition specialist revealed the claim behind detox juice being able to remove toxins and reduce weight. “Well, you actually have to know first what detox means. Detox is short for the word detoxification, a process that actually takes place every day,” he said.
He explained that detoxification is carried out by the body through the liver and digestion. “So actually there is no need for a special period for detox because every day our body detoxifies itself,” he continued.

He said why juice detox, a person can get off quickly. “Yes, throughout the day you only drink juice (200-300 ml) for a few hours at a time. Yes, the calories are definitely small. If you want 8 bottles a day, the total calories won’t be up to 1,000 calories. Yes, you will definitely lose weight, it’s a deficit,” he said.
However, he highlighted that this was not good in terms of fulfilling nutrition because there were no principles of balanced nutrition. Dr. Diana said, “If we just drink juice, we definitely get carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, but the protein? Not necessarily there. The fat? Maybe if the juice is from non-fatty fruit and vegetables we don’t get fat intake.”
He said that if someone wants to try detox juice, they can do it and there is no harm. But the goal is not to do it for a long time and to lose weight.

“We can add more fruit and vegetables, but in fact, if you follow a balanced nutritional diet, morning, afternoon, evening and snacks, you should eat fruit and vegetables. That’s actually what we need is enough fiber. It’s definitely enough,” he continued.
This doctor, who actively shares nutritional information on social media, also said to be careful with diet tea or diet coffee products on the market. This product is often promised to be able to reduce weight.
“Drinking can make you continue to defecate, so in the end you continue to defecate, the water decreases, so you will definitely lose weight. That’s all fake,” he concluded.
