Mrs Lauw’s Legendary Basket Cake Idea, Fried with Crispy Flour


KOMPAS.com – The abundant stock of basket cakes at home, especially after the Chinese New Year celebrations, usually makes some people confused about how to spend them.

“Usually basket cakes are fried, use wheat flour, deep-fried, add garlic, shallots, a little pepper,” said Iin when Kompas.com met her in the Ny Dodol & Cake production kitchen. Lauw (LKW), Tangerang, Banten, Friday (7/1/2025).

He added, if the stock of basket cakes at home feels hard, you can soften them by steaming them briefly in a steamer. As a result, the basket cake will feel chewy again.

Iin also suggested that basket cakes should be stored in the refrigerator so they last longer. According to customer experience, basket cakes can last around seven months to one year.
