The process begins by preparing sticky rice which has been soaked for 3-4 hours. After that, the sticky rice is steamed for 20 minutes until cooked. While waiting, Mama Yulita cooked the coconut milk with salt until it boiled, then mixed it with the cooked sticky rice. This sticky rice is cooked over medium heat until the coconut milk is completely absorbed before being steamed again for a more delicious result.
Meanwhile, the typical creamy mango sticky rice sauce is prepared by mixing thick coconut milk, evaporated milk, powdered cream, sweetened condensed milk, salt and vanilla. To thicken the sauce, Mama Yulita uses a cornstarch solution which is cooked until the texture is right. He also gave tips on adjusting the sweetness by adding granulated sugar according to taste.
This dish is served with fresh mango pieces, creating the perfect combination of flavors and textures. This recipe is suitable to be served as a dessert or special family snack at home.
