West Manggarai –
Voter participation in the election of West Manggarai Regent (Pilbup) 2024 low. The percentage of voters only reached 72.3 percent, down compared to the previous Pilbup which reached 80 percent.
West Manggarai National Awakening Party (PKB) politician, Hendrikus Harfon, suggested that the KPU prepare a door prize in every polling station (TPS) in the next Pilbup. This was an effort to attract voters to come using their voting rights.
“So there is something interesting. The community also not only goes to prick, choose, there is something that is then like a door prize, snacks are also necessary,” Hendrikus said in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) for the preparation of the 2024 election evaluation report conducted by the West Manggarai KPU , Monday (2/24/2025).

According to Hendrikus, the activities at the TPS tend to saturate. This condition needs to be tricked by the election organizer. In addition to preparing door prizes for voters, you can also prepare stalls of snacks (snacks) around the TPS.
“Prepared one to two stalls there. That celebration is arguably a full day. So far is treated to ballot papers, absent going straight home,” Hendrikus said. The West Manggarai PKB DPC treasurer said the people around the TPS could be empowered to prepare the shanties.
