KOMPAS.com – Have leftover white bread? Instead of throwing it away, it’s better to make it into plain bread pudding.
The ingredients are simple and can be made at home. If you don’t like raisins, you can replace them with other ingredients, for example nuts.
The following is the recipe and method for making white bread pudding, quoted from the book “Home Industry Series: Bread Pudding Variations” the work Dapur Kirana (2010) published by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama.

- 2 chicken eggs (beaten)
- 625 milliliters of liquid milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
- 500 grams white bread (cut into cubes)
- 125 grams of granulated sugar
- 100 grams of raisins
- Prepare the oven by heating it to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, bread, sugar and raisins in a bowl. Stir well. Transfer to a heatproof container.
- Place in a heatproof container in the oven, bake for 30 minutes until cooked. Remove, serve hot or cold by letting it sit first.
