1. Green Tea

Green tea is the most popular tea in China and is made through a process of frying, twisting and drying. It tastes fresh with a clear green color which is believed to help reduce weight and protect the body from free radicals.

2. Black Tea

Known as red tea in Chinese culture, this tea is fully fermented resulting in a strong taste and red color to the broth. Black tea is often drunk to aid digestion and increase energy.

3. Oolong Tea

Oolong tea is a semi-fermented tea that has a fresh aroma like green tea, but a rich taste like black tea. This tea is known as “cosmetic tea” because it is believed to help maintain body shape and reduce fat.

4. White Tea

White tea is made using a natural drying method without any twisting or fermentation processes. It has a light taste with the benefits of refreshing the mind, cooling the body, and reducing fever.

5. Yellow Tea

Yellow tea is processed similarly to green tea, but goes through an oxidation stage that gives it its characteristic yellow color. This drink helps digestive health and maintains the balance of the body’s metabolism.

6. Dark Tea

Dark teas, such as Pu’er from Yunnan, are deeply fermented and are often used to make dense teas such as brick tea. This tea is famous for its protein, amino acids and natural sugar content which helps digestion and reduces fat.
