From a nutritional perspective, types milk which one is the best? Cow’s milk or plant milk like soy or almond?
Quote Insider (13/1), here is a nutritionist’s explanation regarding the nutrition of various popular types of milk:
1. Cow’s milk
Nutritionist Lauren Smith said cow’s milk contains many nutrients. This milk is good for those who can digest lactose and doesn’t need to be avoided if you can drink it.
1 cup of cow’s milk can contain 8 grams of protein. Other nutrients are high amounts of calcium and vitamin D.

Unsweetened almond milk can be a good choice for keto or low-carb dieters, according to Smith. He believes that almond milk is usually low in calories, sugar and fat.
Almond milk is also often fortified with antioxidants so that its health benefits are more complete. But if you are looking for a food source high in protein, almond milk is not the right choice.
3. Oat milk
Oat milk or wheat milk is currently on the rise. Many people who live healthy lives choose to drink this milk which is considered healthier. According to nutritionist Dahlia Marin, oat milk is high in fiber and beta-glucan, a type of soluble fiber that can lower cholesterol and improve digestion.
However, oat milk is relatively high in carbohydrates and natural sugar compared to other nut-based plant milks. Therefore, consumption of oat milk should be wary of those who avoid carbohydrate and sugar intake.

In terms of nutrition, soy milk has the advantage of being a vegetable milk whose nutrition is almost close to cow’s milk. Nutritionist Sylvia North says this milk is high in protein, contains essential amino acids, and is often fortified with calcium for bone health.
Milk Soybeans are also good to drink after exercise because of their protein content. According to Smith, a cup of soy milk contains 8 grams of protein, the same as cow’s milk. This milk is also healthier for consumption by those at risk of cardiovascular disease.
