Stephanie Jane Sutanto or familiarly called Jane, is struggling at the Masterchef Indonesia season 12. This woman from Tulungagung wants to prove that a strong passion and determination can bring her to compete in the culinary world.
Armed with education and professional experience in the field of cooking, Jane sees that Masterchef Indonesia is not just competition, but a valuable experience beyond her routine as a young entrepreneur. Although this event is known to be full of pressure, Jane claimed to be ready to face every challenge and compete with other participants in order to achieve her dreams.
Education
Jane, a D3 Hospitality Management graduate at the Majapahit Tourism Academy, Mojokerto, does not only rely on her education to hone cooking skills. His talent and love for the culinary world have grown since childhood.
This 25 -year -old woman was born and raised in a large family engaged in the culinary business, making her familiar with the world of cooking from an early age. The experience became a valuable provision that now brought him further in the professional culinary world.
“Since childhood, I have been familiar with the culinary world because my family is indeed involved in the field of Food and Beverage (F&B),” Jane said when interviewed by Okezone.com in Jakarta, recently.
“In the past, my grandmother opened a place to eat, and many family members also run a similar business. In addition, grandma also likes to make cakes for family and cook when there are family events. This tradition continues to be passed down from generation to generation,” he said.
Work
Growing up in a family that is struggling in the culinary business, Jane was called to pursue the same profession. Before attending Masterchef Indonesia, he was busy with his job as a custom cake maker for various events, ranging from birthdays, engagement parties, to weddings.
His ability in the baking world starts from his curiosity and fad in cooking. Since childhood, Jane often looked at the recipe book from her ancestors, which was neatly arranged in her home bookshelves, became the initial inspiration on her journey in the culinary world.
“At home, there is a cupboard full of recipe books. Because so many, I became curious and began to open it. I tried myself, if I’m not mistaken, it was when I was in middle school,” Jane said.
Now, Jane chose Masterchef Indonesia as a step to increasingly expand in the culinary world. For him, this prestigious cooking event can be a stepping stone to be better known as an inspiring young entrepreneur in the culinary field.
“Previously, I had often held workshops. Hopefully, after this I could get more opportunities, better known, and not only me, but also my work that could be more exposed,” he said.
