Mohd Siddeq explained that balanced food is a food that contains all nutrients. Starting from complex carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, and fiber.
Foods filled with nutrients can maintain energy to remain stable, and this is needed while undergoing fasting. When breaking the fast, the body remains energized.
According to Mohd Siddeq, during fasting, the body’s metabolic system functions as on ordinary days.
2. Danger of breaking the fast with the sweet one
However, when breaking the fast often results in a significant increase in carbohydrate intake. This is triggered from eating the habit of sweet foods.
These sweet foods can cause a surge in blood sugar levels quickly. Then, followed by a sharp decrease, causing the body to become lethargic and tired.
“Many people experience this problem every year due to consuming excessive low quality carbohydrates,” said Mohd Siddeq.
