KOMPAS.com – Liwet rice typical of Sundanese cuisine can be used as a delicious lunch idea complete with chili sauce.
Liwet rice is made with rice ingredients, onion, bay leaves, cayenne pepper, and fried japuh salted fish.
While the sambal ingredients are onion, red chili, kencur, red tomatoes, salt, and sugar.

Material:
- 400 grams of rice
- 1,200 ml of water
- 10 shallots, thinly sliced
- 3 bay leaves
- 20 cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 200 grams of japuh salted fish, fried
Sambal Dadang:
- 6 grains of shallots
- 10 red cayenne pepper
- 2 cm kencur
- 1 red tomato
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar

- Wash the rice thoroughly, then put it in the pan. Add water and seasoning, stir well. Cook over low heat until half cooked.
- Add fried fish. Cook again until the liwet rice is cooked. Remove, serve warm with sauce.
- Sambal Dadang: Blend all chili sauce in the mortar.
