DENPASAR, BALIPOST. com – Chinese New Year or commonly called Chinese New Year will be celebrated soon. To welcome the Chinese New Year celebration, there’s no harm in trying pickled kiamboy which is currently a trend in the Indonesian culinary world.

This fresh snack combines pieces of fresh fruit, such as young mango, pineapple, water guava, or longan with dried salted plums (kiamboy) which has a distinctive taste that combines salty, sweet and sour. Kiamboy is a type of dried fruit from China, which has gone through a salting and drying process, giving it a distinctive salty and sour taste.

In Indonesia, kiamboy has been used in various types of snacks, one of which is pickled fruit. Fresh pickled sauce with a combination of sweet, sour and spicy flavors is the perfect complement to the fresh fruit combined with kiamboy.

Ingredients:

Fresh fruit (young mango, pineapple, grapes, water guava, longan) depending on your taste.

15 Kiamboy (dried salted plums).

Cayenne pepper (to taste).

100 gr granulated sugar.

1/4 tablespoon salt

400 gr water

Songkit orange.

How to make:

Wash all fruit, peel and cut to the desired size.

Prepare a large container, add pieces of fruit, kiamboy and sliced ​​cayenne pepper.

Squeeze the songkit oranges into the fruit mixture, add sugar water and salt

Stir well until all ingredients are mixed and leave in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours for the flavors to infuse.
