KOMPAS.com – Tinutuan and panici from Indonesia are on the list of the 100 worst foods in the world TasteAtlas.
TasteAtlas is an encyclopedia of traditional culinary delights, authentic restaurants and local ingredients from all over the world which regularly releases lists of the best to worst culinary delights as rated by its readers.
Most recently, the site released a list 100 Worst Rated Foods in the World which is sorted by lowest rank on Wednesday (8/1/2025).
As for food from Indonesia, tinutuan is ranked 16th and panici is ranked 36th.
Tinutuan received a score of 2.3 out of 5, while Paniki received a score of 2.5 out of 5.

Tinutuan is also known as Manado porridge. As the name suggests, tinutuan comes from Manado City, North Sulawesi.
Vegetables, such as spinach, corn and pumpkin, are cooked with rice. Next, tinutuan is served with salted fish and chili sauce which makes the taste even more delicious.
Furthermore, panici is a traditional dish from Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi.
Paniki is made from bat meat as the main ingredient. The meat is cooked with various spices and coconut milk. Nowadays, panic is commonly made from chicken as a substitute.
