How to Make Simple Chocolate Banana Bread with Only 6 Ingredients


KOMPAS.com – Simple chocolate banana bread is a classic snack that is always a crowd pleaser. With the soft texture of the bread dough combined with the sweetness of banana and chocolate, this snack is suitable for all occasions.

Interestingly, this simple method of making chocolate banana bread only requires 6 main ingredients. The manufacturing process is easy and anyone can try it at home.

The following is the complete recipe, quoted from the book “Hostess’s Culinary Heirloom 1200 COOKING AND CAKE RECIPES” (2013) by Hostess, published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama.

Material:

  • 150 ml liquid milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 100 grams of powdered sugar
  • 300 grams of medium protein wheat flour
  • 150 grams butter (divided into 100 grams and 50 grams)
  • 10 grams of salt
  • 5 ripe plantains
  • Chocolate bars or chocolate sprinkles as needed for filling

How to Make Baked Banana Bread with Chocolate Meses

  1. Mix liquid milk, egg yolks, powdered sugar and flour in a large bowl. Knead until the dough starts to become smooth.
  2. Add 100 grams of butter little by little into the dough while continuing to knead. Add salt, continue kneading and kneading the dough until it is elastic.
  3. Cover the dough with a wet napkin, let it rest for 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
  4. Roll out the dough 1/2 cm thick, cut into lengthwise pieces about 1.5 fingers wide.
  5. Place the banana and chocolate in the middle of the dough pieces. Roll the dough until all the bananas and chocolate are neatly covered.
  6. Brush the surface of the bread roll with egg yolk, then let it rest for 30 minutes until it rises again.
  7. Bake in the oven at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until cooked and brown.
