  • 75 grams of cauliflower florets
  • 75 grams of carrots (thinly sliced ​​obliquely)

  • 200 grams fresh tomatoes (mashed)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce

  • 4 meatballs (halves)

  • 1/2 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1/3 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon starch (dissolve in 50 milliliters of water)
  • 4 red chilies (remove seeds and slice into matchsticks)
  • Fine salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste

How to make sweet and sour capcay sauce:

1. Wash all the vegetable ingredients, then strain the mashed tomatoes.

2. Heat oil in a frying pan, then saute the garlic and ginger until fragrant. After that, add the shrimp, meatballs and otak-otak, then cook while stirring until the shrimp changes color.

3. Add the tomato sauce, tomato juice, hot stock and salt, then cook while stirring until the spices are absorbed, about three minutes.

4. Add the vegetables, sliced ​​chilies and granulated sugar, then cook, stirring frequently, until the vegetables wilt. Add fish sauce and vinegar, then cook again until mixed well.

5. Correct the taste with additional salt and seasoning, then thicken the sauce with a starch solution. Cook briefly until the sauce boils, then remove from heat and serve.
