“Best time for snacking is between meals,” said a registered nutritionist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in the United States, Amber Core, quoted from Real SimpleThursday (19/12/2024).

There are three main meal times in a day, namely breakfast, lunch and dinner.

However, the main meal times are adjusted to a person’s specific health conditions and lifestyle. Therefore, time snacking can vary depending on each individual.

According to registered nutritionists and founder Kristen Lorenz Nutrition, in general, the main meal should keep you full for three to four hours.

If the main meal doesn’t make you full, it’s time to pay attention to what you consume at that time.

Thus, based on your lunch hour, time snacking the best is in the middle between morning and afternoon. Because, these moments are between meals and can help maintain stable energy levels.

“As well as, snacking in the afternoon can prevent eating too much at night (or even when preparing dinner) if you eat too little or early lunch,” explains Lorenz.

The key, he added, is snacking when you’re really hungry, not when you’re bored. Not only that, focus on nutritious snacks.
