1. Various coffee varieties
The first reason coffee tastes different starts from the various varieties. For example, there are coffee varieties typica, catimor, catoai, colombia, and jember.
“The coffee variety determines the taste of the coffee,” said Ryan in a media meeting at the Trophy Room Common Grounds Menteng Terra, Friday (22/11/2024).
“If you try coffee from Indonesia, it could be that the character can only be obtained from that variety,” he continued.

2. Nutrients in the soil
Even though the variety is the same, the taste of coffee can be different due to different growing areas. This is because the nutrients in the soil will influence the characteristics of the coffee itself.
“For example, the Geisha coffee variety grown in Panama and Colombia tastes different because there are differences in climate and soil elements,” said Ryan.

“If you try coffee that is processed after natural harvest, it will definitely be better fruity, “The fruit taste is more dominant,” said Ryan.
