Material
- 2 stalks lemongrass, thinly sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 pandan leaves, thinly sliced
- 2 cardamom pods
- 3 cloves
- 2 cm ginger, thinly sliced
- 1 pekak fruit (star anise)
- Palm sugar or brown sugar to taste
- Enough water
- Honey (optional)
- Prepare all ingredients. Thinly slice the ginger, lemongrass and pandan leaves to facilitate the release of the spice aroma.
- Put all the ingredients in a pan, then add enough water.
- Boil the mixture until it boils and the water changes color to dark brown like tea.
- After boiling, reduce the heat and let the water reduce a little so that the spice flavor becomes more intense.
- Turn off the heat and strain the boiled wedang pokak into a glass.
- Add honey to taste if you want a softer sweet taste.
- Wedang pokak is ready to be served while warm to warm the body and overcome fatigue.
