Liputan6.com, Kediri – Along Jalan Merbabu, Dermo Village, Mojoroto District, Kediri City, East Java, you can find many Satay and Goat Gule food sellers. However, of the many stalls available, there is only one stall that dares to sell different dishes.
This food stall is called Soto Sate Beef Pak Di stall. The typical menu served is Beef Sate Soto. If in general satay dishes use processed goat meat, Soto Sate Pak Di has consistently used processed beef for 17 years. Pak Di itself is an abbreviation for the shop owner whose full name is Sukardi.
The Soto Sate Beef menu is the idea of Kedah Rahayu (58), the wife of Mr Sukardi.
Kedah has the desire to create a new, different culinary menu. Then his desire arose to combine the taste of soto dishes with the spices of beef satay.
“Initially we were still selling meatballs, but because there were already a lot of people selling, the idea emerged to sell beef satay soup in 2001,” said Kedah Rahayu, Sunday (18/11/2018).
When I tried it, it turned out that the combination of the Kedah Rahayu satay seasoning, made from peanuts and shallots plus soy sauce, tasted like it could blend well with the soto sauce. Delicious, but does not reduce the essence of the quality of the taste of the combination of these two dishes.
The winning menu at Warung Pak Di has received a positive response from culinary lovers in Kediri Raya. Since 2001 until now, Pak Di’s stall has never been empty of visitors. Moreover, the price per serving of beef satay soup is only IDR 13 thousand.
With this price, buyers get soto and three skewers as well as white rice. Customers come not only from Kediri but also from outside the region, such as Tulungagung, Nganjuk, Blitar, Surabaya and even Jakarta.
“Definitely stop by here to buy beef satay soup,” said Kendah Rahayu.
The daughter of Kedah Rahayu, Issa (35) admitted that in a day, approximately 7 kilograms of beef is used to prepare satay soup.
“Mother deliberately chose beef, so that everyone wouldn’t worry or worry about getting cholesterol. Sometimes people are afraid of goat meat. Even people who have had mild strokes have eaten here,” said the mother of one child who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. This.
Apart from serving purchases at the stall, Soto Sate Sapi Pak Di also accepts orders in large quantities for applications, weddings and other purposes.
Fauzan, a customer from Ngeronggot Nganjuk, East Java, admitted that he and his family often visit Pak Di’s beef satay stall.
“A very unique combination, soto but beef satay. Rarely found in other areas,” he said.
