Sugary drinks can be a hindrance to your diet to lose weight. Therefore, it must be avoided so that the diet is successful and fulfills your resolutions in 2023.
Reporting from Eat This (1/1), drinks are a source of hidden calories and added sugar. In fact, a study found that drinks can contribute 20 percent of the calories consumed.
The calories provided by drinks are often not filling. In fact, it will only increase your daily calorie intake and thwart your weight loss efforts.

1. Fruit Juice

Many people think fruit juice can lose weight because it is made from ingredients that contain healthy nutrients. Apparently, fruit juice is not very good for losing weight.
This was conveyed by Melissa Altman-Traub as a dietitian who said, “Fruit juice can provide beneficial nutrients such as vitamin C and potassium, but the calories in the body also add up quickly.”
So that your calorie intake doesn’t increase and you still want to drink fruit juice, you can serve it in small glasses. Melissa provides a better alternative to fruit juice, namely drinking water with lemon or lime juice.
2. Sweet Coffee
Sweet coffee drinks also need to be avoided if you don’t want to add calories while on a diet. Menus that need to be avoided include palm sugar milk coffee, frappuccinos, cafe lattes and others.
Jennifer Fiske, a dietitian, said, “Daily drive-thru coffee drinks can have a lot of added sugar, more than expected.”
“I’ll look at the menu with the client and swap out the syrup, omit the whipped cream, or look for a similar drink that’s lower in calories and sugar,” says Fiske.
