5 Foods High in Antioxidants to Improve Blood Flow

Many people often experience poor blood flow. The causes are many factors, one of which is the buildup of plaque in the blood vessels, especially in the arteries.

Tea is good for improving blood flow. In particular, green tea can protect the endothelial lining or blood vessel lining. That’s thanks to the polyphenol content in it.

Apart from that, black tea is also the same. Black tea contains important compounds called catechins which play a role in maintaining healthy blood vessels.

According to research in the journal Circulation, the compounds in tea do have a beneficial effect on the lining of blood vessels, so that their flow becomes smooth.

2. Salmon

Salmon is a food that contains omega-3 fatty acids. These healthy fats can protect the lining of blood vessels, researchers say.

Researchers found that omega-3 fatty acids can reduce platelet aggregation or clumping. This way, it improves blood flow throughout the body.

Apart from salmon, omega-3 fatty acids can also be found in nuts and seeds, such as walnuts, chia seeds and flax seeds.
