New Year is the right time to make new resolutions for healthy living. If you want to adopt a healthy diet, try the five best diet recommendations for 2025 according to this nutritionist.
Entering the new year, there are many predictions of culinary trends. One of them is regarding the best eating pattern or diet. This information often attracts the attention of many people because more and more people want to live healthier lives.
Quote Good Housekeeping (1/1/2025), nutritionist Keri Gans said that the most important thing when choosing a diet is one that can be maintained for a long time, not something that can be easily stopped and then started again.
“If you think of diet more as a lifestyle change, then it will last longer,” says Gans. He also doesn’t recommend a diet that has too strict restrictions because in the end it often makes many people give up.
To choose the best diet for 2025, the Good Housekeeping team consulted nearly 12 nutrition experts. They focus on eating plans that fit your lifestyle and are supported by evidence-based research.
Here are the 5 best diets for 2025:
1. Best diet in general: Mediterranean diet
The Mediterranean diet has been named the best diet in general because it is more like an eating pattern rather than a traditional ‘diet’ that is difficult to follow. Gans explained that this diet emphasizes the intake of a variety of nutritious foods, is balanced, sustainable, and focuses on natural anti-inflammatory foods, with colorful food ingredients.
Nutritionist Marissa Meshulam Karp added that the Mediterranean diet is rich in antioxidants which are important for preventing various chronic diseases. This diet is also suitable for losing weight because it focuses on high fiber intake and reducing consumption of saturated fats and refined carbohydrates.
The Mediterranean diet focuses on the intake of fresh produce, olive oil, fatty fish, nuts, seeds and whole grains. You can read a basic guide to the Mediterranean diet below.

The Flexitarian Diet is said to be easy to follow and promises general health benefits. The perpetrator can still eat meat, but it is recommended to choose seafood or beef that has been fed grass during its lifetime (grass-fed).
According to nutritionists, the Flexitarian Diet is useful for keeping the heart healthy, lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol, and preventing cancer and diabetes.
3. Best diet for weight loss: Noom
Noom Weight is a digital weight loss program that has been practiced by more than 3 million people. Noom was designed by psychologists, nutritionists and personal trainers to include techniques that allow this healthy eating pattern to last.
The culprit needs to register and download the Noom app. Later there will be a number of questions that must be filled in to provide a personal eating guide and specific goals to be achieved
Noom generally uses a color code system for food which is divided into 3 categories, namely green, yellow and orange foods. Green foods are the healthiest, yellow foods contain more calories, and orange foods are calorie dense and less nutritious.
